Green Resilience Africa | ASCEND Synthesis Team
The Green Resilience Africa team will synthesise available data to generate evidence-based recommendations to support forest landscape restoration practices in countries including Ethiopia, Togo, and Madagascar.
Overview
About this synthesis team
The Green Resilience Africa team will synthesise available data to generate evidence-based recommendations to support forest landscape restoration practices in countries including Ethiopia, Togo, and Madagascar.
The Challenge
Nature-based solutions are widely promoted but unevenly evidenced. Planners across African cities and rural districts need to know which interventions actually reduce flood, heat, and drought risk in their context, and the evidence is spread across small, disconnected studies.
Our Approach
The team assembles terrestrial ecosystem, vegetation, and land-use datasets alongside systematic reviews of intervention effectiveness, then translates the synthesis into planning guidance with municipal and community partners.
Expected Outputs
- Nature-based solutions toolkit
- Land-use planning guidelines
- Community action white paper
