His work has a particular focus on turning cutting-edge science into evidence that can change climate policy and action across Africa and globally for a healthier and more just future. Dr Trisos is Director of ASCEND and the Climate Risk Lab. He led the Africa chapter on climate impacts and adaptation of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change Sixth Assessment Report and is an author of the IPCC Synthesis Report published in 2023, for which he led the section on near-term risks and responses to climate change. He participates in international climate negotiations, with a particular focus on the Global Goal on Adaptation, and advises multiple governments and development institutions on climate change adaptation and resilience. Dr Trisos holds a Schmidt Sciences Polymath Award in recognition of his intensely creative work.
